* Fireside Chat with Sabine Lehmann "Navigating the Societal Impact of Generative AI and Career Insights for Women in Tech". The fireside chat will focus on the societal implications of generative AI, highlighting its impact on creativity and innovation and how we may ensure that generative AI benefits everyone. In addition, we’ll discuss the unique challenges and opportunities for women in the AI space, offering practical career advice for women aiming to make an impact in this rapidly evolving field.


* Expert Panel Discussion with Sabine Lehmann, Sheerah Kim, Ursula Meyer, Nikki Böhler and Dalith Steiger-Gablinger on "The Transformative Impact of Generative AI on Industries and the Emerging Opportunities for Women" moderated by Tamara Abrosini. Following the fireside chat, an expert panel will take a deeper dive into the transformative role generative AI plays across industries. The discussion will explore how AI is reshaping sectors and identify the emerging opportunities for women to lead and innovate in this space. Panelists will offer valuable insights into how women can position themselves to take advantage of these shifts, thrive in AI-driven environments and shape the future with AI.

Speakers:

Sabine Lehmann, Senior Staff Linguist at Google

Sabine joined Google in 2019 to lead the linguist team for Assistant for EMEA and APAC, based in Zurich. In 2023, she moved to Gemini where the focus of the work is on multilinguality. Before joining Google in 2019, Sabine was cofounder and head of language engineering for almost 20 years at Acrolinx, an enterprise language AI company based in Berlin.


Sheerah Kim, Head ICT/Digitalisation at Stadt Affoltern am Albis, Executive Board Member & Co-President at BPW

Sheerah studied Digital Ethics at HWZ University of Applied Sciences Zurich and focused on the ethical debate of AI voice tech in the gaming industry and the use of Generative AI tools in public administration in her papers. The results of the latter served her as a baseline for her work as Head of ICT/Digitalisation at the City of Affoltern am Albis to develop and introduce an AI competency framework and evaluate a pilot for the use of Generative AI. As the co-president of BPW Business & Professional Women Club Zurich, Sheerah actively promotes Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, which also drives her passion to make technology and digital tools more accessible for women and underrepresented groups. Previously, she worked as Senior Lead Business Development at the ETH spin-off incon.ai that develops Augmented and Mixed Reality solutions for the construction industry, and has built a strong corporate strategy and data analytics background during her 15 years of work at Swiss Re.


Ursula Mayer, AI Entrepreneur at Sciform, Lecturer at HWZ, Computational Scientist

Ursula is a computational scientist, lecturer, and award-winning serial entrepreneur passionate about cutting-edge science and technology. Her expertise spans Distributed Computing, Applied Mathematics, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration across industries. She believes that science and technology can solve global challenges when developed with a human-centric, environmentally conscious approach. To support this vision, Ursula founded Sciform, helping clients in industry and academia with AI and Quantum Computing projects, focusing on responsible AI development. She also shares her insights on AI deep-tech and ethics in CAS programs at HWZ in Zurich. Before founding Sciform, Ursula held key roles advancing numerical methods and AI in various industries and co-founded 4-dimensional GmbH, contributing to EU and World Bank drinking water projects in collaboration with ETH Zurich.


Nikki Böhler, Co-founder of Intersections, Board Member of the House of Electronic Arts, Expert for the Digital Trust Label

Nikki is the co-founder of Intersections, a board member of the House of Electronic Arts, and an expert for the Digital Trust Label. As a citizen, entrepreneur and artist, she is deeply engaged with the impact of emerging technologies. Through Intersections, she advises organizations on how to implement AI responsibly. She believes that unlocking the potential of AI requires appropriate governance, knowledge, and active involvement. In her previous role as Managing Director of Opendata.ch, she highlighted the value of data and promoted open-source projects for democratic innovation. Her achievements have been recognized in Forbes’ “30 Under 30” and as a “Digital Shaper” by Bilanz.


Dalith Steiger-Gablinger, Co-Founder & Managing Partner SwissCognitive

Dalith is a globally recognized AI investor, strategist, and co-founder of the acclaimed start-up SwissCognitive. Leveraging her background in mathematics and business information technology, Dalith has emerged as a leading voice in the AI ecosystem, renowned for her expertise in bridging technology and business realms. With a passion for nurturing innovation, she advises companies on their AI journey, actively participates in boards and accelerator programs, and mentors young women in tech. Dalith's insightful keynotes and strategic guidance to businesses are instrumental in driving digital transformation and innovation leadership globally. Beyond her professional pursuits, she finds joy in off-roading and mountain biking, spending time with her family and friends, and loves high heels.
