This year, WDS marks International Women's Day with a special event welcoming the Ukrainian/French film director and journalist, Anastasia Mikova, to Geneva. She'll give an inspiring and interactive presentation about her film Woman, produced in conjunction with Yann Arthus-Bertrand at the Electronic Arts (EA) office in Geneva. Join us to view clips of the documentary along with her commentary on the film. Lunch will also be offered by EA following the presentation.

About Anastasia

Anastasia Mikova is a film director and committed journalist of Ukrainian origin, whose work focuses on topics linked to human and social issues. She began her career as a reporter for French television programs, exploring subjects such as illegal immigration, organ trafficking and surrogate mothers. While she continues in the field of investigative journalism,  her work focuses on a longer, documentary format.

In 2009, she became editor-in-chief of the series of documentaries Earth from Above, which marked the beginning of her collaboration with the French photographer and director Yann Arthus-Bertrand. She then continued their collaboration as first assistant director and co-author of the documentary film Human (released in 2015), based on 2000 interviews with people worldwide, and then as co-director of their new film Woman. The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival and was released in theatres in France on the 4th of March and in more than 40 countries worldwide.  >
